Warren Circuit Court Clerk

The Warren County Circuit Court Clerk's Office is located at the courthouse in Front Royal, Virginia. The 26th Judicial Circuit covers both Warren County and Shenandoah County. The Clerk is a constitutional officer elected by Warren County voters and holds more than 800 statutory duties under Virginia law. These include maintaining the public record room, recording land instruments such as deeds and deeds of trust, issuing marriage licenses, overseeing probate filings, and preserving all civil and criminal case files. The Circuit Court in Front Royal handles felony criminal cases, civil matters over $4,500, divorces, estate probate, land record filings, and appeals from the General District Court. Warren General District Court Dockets

The Warren General District Court is part of the 26th General District and handles misdemeanor criminal cases, traffic violations, and civil matters at or below $25,000. Its records are separate from the Circuit Court's. Criminal fines from General District Court proceedings can be paid online through the Virginia Judiciary Online Payment System (VJOPS). Card payments carry a 4% convenience fee. A misdemeanor or traffic case decided in General District Court can be appealed to the Circuit Court in Front Royal for a new trial. Once the appeal is filed, the case appears in both systems.

Documents with 31 or more pages cost $52. These rates apply to deeds, deeds of trust, and similar instruments recorded with the Clerk's Office in Front Royal.

Copies of court records cost $0.50 per page. Certified copies add $2.00 per document. A judge's certificate, if included, adds another $0.50. For mail requests, enclose a check payable to the Clerk of Circuit Court for Warren County.
